Watch Video: Nairobi Protester Tries on Sergeant-At-Arms Regalia Stolen During Parliament Invasionin Viral Clip
- Angry protesters stormed parliament and started speaking in the chambers, destroying times, pulling down flags and so on
- The previously peaceful demonstrations turned chaotic after some people were killed, and the demonstrators made their way into parliament by bringing down a wall
- A man who made his way into the buildings stole the regalia worn by the sergeant-at-arms and went to wear it in the streets
A young protester is cheekily called the new sergeant-at-arms in the street after making away with the regalia meant for the parliament staff member.
The regalia was stolen after Kenyans stormed parliament and broke items, ate food, looted televisions and rearranged seats.
When the young man showed up with the regalia, the people even helped him wear it and took photos. He had, however, covered his face with a cloth cape and Abandan, so his identity was hidden entirely.
People on the streets jostled to take photos with the man, calling him speaker or sergeant-at-arms, and some netizens were amused that they ran away with it. His photos also circulated in neighbouring countries, and people shared their sentiments.
