Red Velvet's 'Cosmic' dominates iTunes charts globally, including U.K. and U.S.
Red Velvet is hitting new milestones with their latest comeback! On the evening of June 24 KST, the popular K-pop group Red Velvet made a grand return with their new mini album “Cosmic” and its title track of the same name.
The mini album quickly soared to the top of iTunes charts around the world. By June 25 KST, “Cosmic” had already reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 41 different regions.
“Cosmic” achieved the top spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart in the United Kingdom for the first time in Red Velvet’s history. The album also claimed No. 1 in the United States, Canada, Sweden, Poland, Australia, Denmark, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Macau, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Chile, Finland, Ireland, Paraguay, Romania, Turkey, Colombia, India, Peru, Brunei, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Portugal, South Africa, Bolivia, and Jordan.
In addition to its global iTunes success, “Cosmic” topped AWA’s realtime rising chart in Japan and dominated several music charts in China. It reached No. 1 on Tencent Music’s K-Pop Chart, which aggregates data from five streaming platforms, and also led QQ Music’s and KuGou Music’s digital album sales charts.
