Pump sold at parts stores nationwide recalled
Hollywood acting icon Donald Sutherland dies aged 88
A foot pump sold by Repco has been recalled over its battery packaging.
The GPC Asia Pacific – Double Barrel Foot Pump, which is supplied with a button battery, does not comply with packaging regulations, Product Safety Australia said in its recall notice.
"The button/coin battery packaging is not resistant to being opened by young children, does not release only a single battery at a time and does not include the required warning information," PSA said.
"There is a risk of choking, severe internal burn injuries or death to young children if they gain access to the button/coin batteries.
"This can occur within two hours of swallowing or placing them into their bodies."
Consumers should store the button batteries out of reach of children.
They can also return the product to their place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
The product was sold nationwide through Repco and NAPA Auto Parts, and online.
