Ranking Ralph Lauren's Olympic ceremony outfits from 2024 Paris to 2004 Athens
As you probably know right now, Ralph Lauren announced their 2024 Olympic Opening Closing ceremony of forms. So here's a ranking of every Ralph Lauren look from the last 20 years of the Olympics from someone who may not be a fashion expert but has opinions. Let's get into it, starting with the latest ones. I would give these a 7 out of 10. It's reminding me a bit too much of hot wool school uniforms in the summertime. It sounds like that'd be uncomfortable for athletes. That being said, I love the stripes are underneath and the wash of the jeans feels very quintessential American denim. You know, I don't hate this, I really don't. But I feel like given that this was a delayed Olympics because of COVID, it could have used a bit more pizzazz, a bit more excitement. And the white on white is classy. But it's boring, so I'll say 6 out of 10. Finally, shorts. Thank God. The boat shoes, the stripes, everything about this is very nautical coastal US summer, and honestly, I love it. And the athletes are probably so much cooler in the Brazil heat. And Simone looks amazing. I mean come on, it had time for me, you guys. What were these hots and scarves in the summer? I cannot instant 4 out of 10. That's all I have to say. Are you seeing a theme with the Blazers? Honestly, everyone looks super sharp in these hats, but I would have liked this look in London instead, and they probably could have incorporated more red in there to make it clear that this was red, white and blue teen USI. So I'll say some out of time listen. It's a different time. I was three years old during these games, so I don't fully get what this look was going for. Feels a bit like the goal was to show the world that the US was trendy and cool, and I'm sure it did that. They don't think it holds up in 2024. It just feels a bit confusing to me so I'll say if I would have done.
