NFL Scout Ranks Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes: NFL’s Best?
If renowned Die Hard villain Hans Gruber were describing Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, he may use the following quote attributed to Plutarch, when referring to Alexander the Great.
“When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."

Putting the melodramatic nature of the quote aside, Mahomes has arguably reached the top of the NFL echelon.
In fact, The Draft Scout’s Matt Miller placed the three-time Super Bowl champion first among NFL quarterbacks in their recent power rankings.
“He’s the best player on the planet and it’s really only debated if you’re a fan of the Denver Broncos or Las Vegas Raiders. You either love Mahomes or you wish your team had him.”
In addition to his Super Bowl championships (including three Super Bowl MVPs), Mahomes is also a two-time NFL MVP and three-time All-Pro. Some may argue that he has already had the career about which most athletes can only dream. At age 28, he is just entering the prime of his career. Mahomes' career accolades through seven seasons in the NFL have earned him widespread praise for his abilities on the field.
Though some may still give the unofficial title of “greatest of all time” when it comes to NFL quarterbacks to New England Patriots legend Tom Brady, Mahomes is the only current player at the position with a legitimate shot to unseat him atop the league’s historical mountain.
The Draft Scout based its list on past successes and predicted future glory while weighing in factors such as age, injury, and consistency to project forward a ranking for Week 1 of the 2024 season.
