‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 & French Film ‘Under Paris’ Jockey For Netflix’s Most-Watched Title Last Week, Leading Top 10
Lady Whistledown faced an unlikely adversary on Netflix last week.
Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2 went neck-and-neck with the French film Under Paris, about a scientist whose tasked with ridding the Seine of a bloodthirsty shark, for the most-watched title of the week.
Ultimately, the shark eked out a win on this one as Under Paris managed 28.7M views. That was good enough to boost it into Netflix’s non-English most popular film list at No. 5.
Shonda Rhimes’ Regency-era drama wasn’t too far off though, bringing in 28M views thanks to those final four episodes of the season. However, that wasn’t nearly the audience that the first half of the season saw in that same premiere window.

Still, one should expect to see this third season make an appearance on Netflix’s most popular list sometime soon. It’s already inching incredibly close to snatching the No. 10 spot from Baby Reindeer. Now that there are new episodes available, the series’ 91-day premiere window will restart, giving it plenty of time to rack up impressive viewership that will help it land among the greats.
Speaking of the most popular list, Bridgerton‘s first two seasons (which have remained on the list since they debuted) were once again in the Top 10 as well. Season 1 claimed No. 6 with 2.7M views, and Season 2 took No. 9 with 2.3M views.
Back on the film side of things, Richard Linklater’s Hit Man retained its No. 1 spot on the English-language list. The movie hit 13.7M views last week. This is a pretty strong performance for Hit Man, considering it is not available globally on Netflix.
Last week’s viewership for Hit Man was up about 3M over its debut weekend, which is a promising sign that the film is continuing to gain traction. It is, naturally, not going to be able to put up massive numbers that some other Netflix films have, due to its availability restrictions. That makes a run for the most popular list unlikely, though it doesn’t indicate that the film isn’t successful in its own way.
