TK Maxx and Homesense urgently recall 'unsafe' tea 'containing insects'

Shoppers have been warned to immediately stop using three types of tea after they were found to be infested with insects.
TK Maxx and Homesense issued an urgent recall, advising anyone who has purchased the tea to cease using it straight away. The Food Standards Agency issued a recall notice stating: "TK Maxx and Homesense are recalling selected batches of Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas because some of these products have been found to contain insects."
They further stated that the presence of bugs rendered them "unsafe to consume", reports Nottinghamshire Live.
The affected products are:
- Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas – Calm & Relax, pack size, 60g, batch codes 6057, 6071, 6118, 6126 and 6207
- Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas – Chamomile, pack size 40g, batch codes 5887 and 6111
- Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas – Sleepy, pack size 40g, batch codes 6058, 6102 and 6125
They further advised: "If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to any TK Maxx or Home Sense store for a full refund. For further information, please contact TK Maxx/Homesense Customer Services on 01923 473561 or [email protected].
In their recall notice, TK Maxx and Homesense stated: "We are recalling selected batches of the above products due to a food safety risk. Some products from these batches have been found to contain insects. The products were on sale in our stores between April 2024 and June 2024. " The notice concluded: "Please stop using it immediately and return to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund."
