The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will affect the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Sunday and will bring rain showers, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Batangas, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
Sunrise was at 5:27 a.m. Sunset will be at 6:27 p.m.
Heat index
PAGASA also said 35 areas in the country will experience a heat index at the danger level on Sunday.
According to PAGASA’s 5 p.m. forecast on Saturday, the following areas will have heat indexes ranging from 42°C to 46°C :

The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature.
For the danger level, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke is also probable with continued exposure.
The Department of Health advised the public to keep drinking lots of water to prevent dehydration.
It also urged the public to refrain from leaving the house at noontime and to do so only in the morning or in the afternoon.
