MANILA, Philippines — Reigning Olympic champ France fended off Brazil, 25-23, 27-29, 13-25, 25-19, 18-16, to tally a 2-2 win-loss record in the Men's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Manila leg at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Théo Faure racked up 28 markers to lead the French who tallied an overall record of 8-4, 6th in the standings.
Kevin Tillie punched in 14 points while Ricardo Souza pumped 17 points to lead the Brazilians, who finished the Manila leg with a 1-3 slate.
Alan Souza aided Souza with 15 points as Brazil ended the VNL eliminations with a 6-6 slate, 7th in the standings.
Both France and Brazil advanced to the quarterfinals.
