The New York Mets have been an entirely different team since McDonald's Grimace threw out the first pitch for this past Wednesday.

Indeed, that big, purple blob has been a lifesaver for the Mets, as the team has won four-straight games since the fast-food mascot graced Citi Field with his presence.

Now, the Mets are one of the hotter teams in baseball and could keep their win streak going on Sunday with a series sweep of the San Diego Padres.

While we're not sure how much of this is related to Grimace wearing a Mets hat and just a bounce of good luck New York's way, we're going to keep thinking that the Grimace is worth betting on the Mets for the next few games.
