Southwest monsoon to bring rain showers- Pagasa
The southwest monsoon or habagat has briefly weakened but it will bring rain showers and thunderstorms in most parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
The southwest monsoon is affecting most areas particularly the western section of Southern Luzon including Palawan where overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail.
"It may weaken as the easterlies would resurface in the coming days," weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
The southwest monsoon will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan and the rest of MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
The rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms.
