Virat Kohli suffered another heartbreak as his and Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) wait for a maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title was extended another year following a four-wicket defeat to Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator of the 2024 IPL at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Kohli's stunning season with the bat went to vain, in which he made a total of 741 in 15 matches at an average of 61.75 and a strike-rate of 154.69. In the eliminator, Kohli gave RCB another solid start with a 23-ball 33 but failed to make it big and was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal after making a 24-ball 33.
Kohli was evidently disappointed as RCB once again failed to go the distance in the 2024 IPL and have gone 17 years without winning the IPL title and also eight years without even reaching the final.

As RR came closer to the target, Kohli was evidently furious and lost his cool at Yash Dayal in the 17th over, which proved to be the game-changer as 11 runs came of it. Dayal conceded back-to-back boundaries from Shimron Hetmyer on the third and fourth balls of the over, which invoked a sharp reaction from Kohli.
The RCB legend was shown angry with the bowler and did not hide his feelings from his RCB teammate on the boundary line. Kohli also threw a water bottle in anger in a video that has gone viral all over social media.

Talking about the match, RR won the toss and chose to bowl first. RCB posted a below-par total of 172 on the board. While the Faf du Plessis-led side put a good fight with the bowl, it was not enough as the Royals' got home with six balls to spare and set-up the second qualifier with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday (May 24) in Chennai.
