MARIANO Marcos State University (MMSU) in Ilocos Norte, in partnership with the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines (KCCP) Inc., Samdo Elearning Corp. (SEC) and Hancom Academy (HA), will offer Korean language and courses.
MMSU President Shirley Agrupis, KCCP and SEC President Joseph Um, and HA Director Oharm Lee, representing HA Chief Executive Officer Kwang Hun-Lee, signed a five-year memorandum of understanding at the Ferdinand Marcos Hall on May 7.
Agrupis said the classes would be conducted through various modalities such as artificial intelligence or AI teaching programs and audio and e-learning in-person classes.
Um said, "This initiative may open job opportunities, especially considering the presence of numerous Korean companies in the Philippines."
He also proposed an English camp wherein KCCP will closely collaborate with MMSU and the Ilocos Norte provincial government office and expressed his intention to invite more Korean students to visit the Ilocos Norte university.
Agrupis expressed optimism about the proposed initiatives, saying, "We are ready for the English camp and to welcome Korean students to the university. We have the facilities to assist us in this endeavor."
