5 dead after truck falls off cliff in Davao del Norte

Five passengers, including three minors, died after the elf truck they were riding fell off a cliff in Brgy. Sto. Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte, Super Radyo dzBB reported Monday.
Citing the Talaingod Municipal Police, Super Radyo Davao’s Jaycel Villacorte said the truck was driving downhill. As it approached the curved part of the road, the brake of the truck failed and the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to fall.
The five casualties were declared dead on arrival while the other passengers were brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
About 25 passengers were in the truck, which was on its way to a beach resort in Davao de Oro.
The truck driver is under the custody of the Talaingod Municipal Police and may face charges due to the accident.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/AOL, GMA Integrated News
