These students will pursue their respective college education with science and technology fields of specialization in the top-caliber higher education institutions (HEIs) with the financial assistance and resources provided by the DoST-SEI.
DoST-SEI is mandated through Executive Order No. 128 dated January 30, 1987 to perform functions such as undertake science and education and training; administer
scholarships, awards and grants; undertake science and technology manpower development; and formulate plans and establish programs and projects for the promotion and development of science and technology education and training in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), and other institutions of learning.
DoST-SEI envisioned developing the Philippines' human resource capacity in science and technology (S&T) required to produce demand-driven outputs that meet global standards.
