PAGASA: 43 areas to have danger level heat index on May 23, 2024

State weather bureau PAGASA said that 43 areas in the Philippines will be having a heat index falling under the danger level on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Based on its 5 p.m. heat index forecast, the following areas will have 42°C to 47°C heat index:
47°C:
- Guiuan, Eastern Samar
46°C:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Aparri, Cagayan
- Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte
45°C:
- Laoag City, llocos Norte
- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
- Aborlan, Palawan
- Cuyo, Palawan
- Virac (Synop), Catanduanes
- Roxas City, Capiz
- Iloilo City, Iloilo
- Dumangas, Iloilo
44°C:
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Iba, Zambales
- Sangley Point, Cavite
- Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- La Granja, La Carlota, Negros Occidental
- Maasin, Southern Leyte

- NAIA, Pasay City
- MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte

Baguio City, Benguet will have the lowest heat index in the country at 27°C.
Meanwhile, areas in the danger level are at a risk of heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke in cases of prolonged exposure.
