Former India cricketer Roger Binny, who is currently the BCCI president and was part of India's 1983 World Cup-winning squad, has admitted that it will take time to fill the gap that India skipper Rohit Sharma and ace batter Virat Kohli have left behind in T20Is. Rohit and Kohli called it quits from T20Is after playing pivotal roles in India's second world triumph in the format in Barbados.
The 2007 champions beat South Africa by seven runs in a high-voltage summit clash on Saturday to end their painful 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.
Rohit and Kohli have been massive figures in Indian cricket across formats and their retirement from T20Is denotes the end of an era and the passing on of a baton that is full of legacies.

"There is so much talent in the IPL. Lot of cricketers are coming through but it is going to take some time to bridge the gap," Binny told media after the final.
"They have contributed so much. It's going to take time. We will probably see in the next two-three years, the team coming back into it's own without them," Binny added.
Rohit leaves T20Is with 4231 runs from 159 games, having made five centuries and 32 half-centuries. In 125 T20Is, Kohli scored 4188 runs at an average of 48.69 with 122 being his highest.
