Vetrimaaran reveals why Suriya's 'Vaadivaasal' will not have a sequel
Vetrimaaran is one of the prominent directors of India. The director is busy with his projects in hand and he is all set to shoot the film 'Vaadivaasal' starring Suriya as the lead. The film was announced in 2022 and the test shooting was completed long back. However, with both the actor and director constantly busy with their other commitments, the film has not gone on grounds and it is speculated that the project has been shelved.
However, no official confirmation has been given. The makers a while back, released a mini-teaser from the test shooting and now Vetrimaaran recently talking about the film said that he will for sure start the project after his current commitments and revealed that the film is made in a very expensive budget. The director also added that his films mostly don't work on a huge budget but with 'Vaadivaasal' it is different and he said that he pondered a lot before deciding to take on the project and added that to not have another big expenditure or big budget film again, he will not plan for a sequel of the film.
Vetrimaaran's 'Vaadivaasal' is adapted from the novel that is about the traditional bull sport of Tamil Nadu - Jallikattu and the webseries 'Petaikaali' produced by the director is the prelude of the film and it gives the audience a glimpse of what the film is about.
On the work front, Suriya is currently shooting for his tentatively titled 'Suriya 44' with director Karthik Subbaraj and director Vetrimaaran is also busy with the post production of 'Viduthalai 2' which is scheduled for its release in theatres this Diwali.
