In the first elimination round, the 23 teams were divided into six groups and played against each other to determine the first 11 teams to form either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal bingo pattern to advance to the next elimination round.
In the second elimination round, the 11 teams went head-to-head to determine the final three teams to compete in the final round.
With much anticipation, the mother-and-son Arenas tandem, Chester Espino and Tristan Pangilinan of North Luzon, and Jovelyn Calatrava and Aldren Dayan Candelario of Visayas secured their spots in the finals.
After a nail-biting finish, the Arenases emerged victorious and was declared the grand winner with a record time of 45 seconds, while the aunt and nephew Calatrava-Candelario tandem and pals Espino and Pangilinan from Pampanga were declared second and third placers, respectively.
The second placer brought home P30,000 while the third placer received P20,000 cash.
Grand champion mother and son said they look forward to using their P50,000 prize to repair their house, while it is surely a memorable birthday for second place winner Candelario with his aunt as they take home their prize back to Bacolod.
The third-placer pals plan to save their prize winnings for tuition fee for the upcoming school year.
Inspired by the eponymous viral game on TikTok, the Bounce and Bingo game has become wildly popular among MR.DIY customers, offering a unique blend of agility, strategy and luck.
Started last April 17 and ran until May 17, participants had the opportunity to take on the challenge with no minimum purchase required, across 50 participating MR.DIY stores nationwide, forming two-person teams who can record the fastest time to complete horizontal, vertical and diagonal bingo patterns on the bingo tray.
The game finals was made possible by Waltermart North Edsa as its official event venue, hosted by influencer Mary Grace Khu and featured invitational games for the mall audience, as well as a special performance from Tiktok choreographer Jerold and his dance group Legit Status PH.
