The shares of pharma giant AstraZeneca are approaching ex-dividend soon, following the announcement of dividend for this year. Earlier, the board of directors of AstraZeneca recommended a dividend of Rs 24 per equity share for its shareholders.

“...the Board has recommended Dividend of Rs. 24/- per equity share of Rs. 2/- each, subject to the approval of Shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the Company. The Dividend, if approved by the Shareholders, will be credited/dispatched within 30 days from the date of Annual General Meeting of the Company,” AstraZeneca said in an exchange filing.

Astrazeneca Pharma dividend record date
The company has fixed the record date on July 5.
“Further to our intimation dated May 27, 2024, we wish to inform that the Record Date for determining the entitlement of the shareholders for the payment of Final Dividend for the financial year is July 5, 2024. The Final Dividend, if approved by the shareholders, shall be paid/ dispatched to the shareholders on or before September 6, 2024,” the company stated in an exchange filing.
Astrazeneca Pharma dividend history
Although Astrazeneca Pharma boasts a rich history of paying dividends to its shareholders, this is the highest dividend announced by the company so far.
As per BSE data, the company has paid a dividend of Rs 16 in 2023 and Rs 8 in 2022. Furthermore, Astrazeneca Pharma paid an interim dividend of Rs 2 in 2021, Rs 2 in 2020, and Rs 1 in 2029.
