Cam Spencer drafted 53rd overall by the Memphis Grizzlies
Cam Spencer heard his name called with the 53rd overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday evening. The pick was originally made by the Detroit Pistons but reportedly will be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
As a grad transfer from Rutgers who started his career at Loyola (MD), Spencer scored 14.3 points to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, and a team-high 59 steals. He was top-10 in the country in the only Division 1 player ranked in the top ten in three-point shooting (44.0 percent) and assist/turnover ratio (3.6). He played his way onto the NBA radar with his elite shooting, high basketball IQ, and intense competitive spirit.
UConn has now had six players drafted in the last two seasons.
