Sandwich Recall Map Shows 14 States Impacted by Health Warning
A map created by Newsweek showing all states currently affected by the Classic Delight sandwich recall.
Tens of thousands of sandwich products sold in numerous U.S. states have been recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Sandwiches produced by Classic Delight have been voluntarily recalled due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful bacterium that can lead to food poisoning. The products were sold in the following states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The recall, which has now been given a Class II risk classification by the FDA, is still classed as ongoing after first being initiated on June 10. Under the FDA's definition, a Class II recall is issued when "a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

Listeria is a bacteria that can contaminate food and drink products and cause food poisoning. While anyone can become ill once infected, those most at risk are young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, tiredness, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Those with a more persistent, serious infection can experience symptoms like headaches, neck stiffness, loss of balance, confusion and convulsions.
Anyone who has concerns or questions about the product or the should contact Classic Delight's consumer hotline at (419)-300-3202 Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time, or via email at [email protected].
