chelsea transfer news: blues favourites for dewsbury-hall as leicester set to lower asking price

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Leicester City, 2023/24

Chelsea are the favourites to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as the player wishes to work again under Enzo Maresca, FootballTransfers has been told.

Leicester City have set an asking price of £40 million for the midfielder but it’s thought that price will come down and a deal can be agreed closer to the £30m mark.

The 25-year-old excelled under Maresca last season as the Foxes won the Championship and returned to the Premier League.

have made their approach known, with the player only wanting to move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues already have the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo, Conor Gallagher, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu in midfield but remain keen to bolster the centre of the park with a further addition.

Chelsea eye Murillo

The club is also interested in Murillo from Nottingham Forest, though it's known that Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on the defender as well. The Brazilian, who moved to the City Ground from Corinthians last summer, had an impressive first season.

Chelsea have reportedly made initial inquiries about Murillo, and Forest have informed them that he would cost £70 million.

In response, the Blues have suggested including academy graduate Chalobah in the deal.

Selling Chalobah would help Chelsea comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability regulations, as the money from home-grown talent is considered pure profit in the accounts.

However, the deal depends on whether Chalobah is open to joining Forest, as the 24-year-old wants to move to a club on his own terms. Chelsea signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer and already have defenders Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, and Benoît Badiashile in their squad.

Forest, also under pressure from Profitability and Sustainability rules, plan to raise funds by selling Moussa Niakhate to Lyon, a deal which is close.
