Micheál Ó Muircheaigh’s remains return to Dingle tonight
Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh’s remains have returned to his native Daingean Uí Chúis tonight ahead of his Wake in Dingle town tomorrow.
The Funeral cortège left his resident County Meath at roughly 3pm today and made the long journey south, reaching its destination within the last half-hour.
A number of guards of honour were held on the route, including by CLG Lios Póil in the last parish before Dingle.
Mr Ó Muircheartaigh’s Wake will take place from 11am to 8pm at O’Connor’s Funeral Home in Dingle on Friday (June 27).
The legendary Gaelic Games commentator’s Funeral takes place the following morning at 11 o’clock in St Mary’s Church, Green Street, Dingle. He will be buried afterwards at nearby Milltown Cemetery.
