Jermaine Jenas predicts Englands starting XI against Slovakia
Hi Jermaine. What's his starting 11 for the next game? I probably wouldn't. I mean, I think he'll stick with the system. So I would go pick fit in goal. Walker right back, Stones, Gay he I'd go Gomez left. Back in midfield, I'd go Rice and Kobe Mainu. On the right hand side I'd go Bukai Osaka. In the hole, I'd probably go Phil Ferdin. On the left I'd go Anthony Gordon. Top, I would go Harry K. What's the one thing you'd change about this England side? I've I've been thinking about this a lot, a lot. And you know, part of me is like, look, throw away this system. You if we have, you know, Luke Shaw, to me, it's clearly not fit. You know, I, I, I don't know what's going on there, but I don't think he's fit from what I am seeing. Do we need to kind of go through it at the back? Does he need to say absolutely, just rip it up and kind of find a way to get some like more players on the pitch and and more supporting in better areas? So you know, he could kind of go Walker stones gay. He he could put someone like Bekaya Sakura at left wing back, Trent right wing back, and then you have Kobe and Rice in the middle. I'd probably go fold them in, fold them in the hole and two up top with Kane and Watkins. You know, you could look at something like when I say that it's because it looks like it does need something drastic. And right now, we just keep coasting into these moments in the game and doing the same things and this and getting the same results. I don't think you'll do that. But I think I'd be surprised if you don't make more changes in the next game. Across three games has made one change. Well, yeah, I mean, when you look at it, you kind of go, well, like I said before, left back's not working. Why don't we try Joe Gomez? Because you had a really good spell for Liverpool there. You know, I actually think he looked better at left back. They did it right back for Liverpool. I think the Kobe Rice situation is going to stay now. I think him and Declan look good together. That's the world play that you think is going to come in to the next game. Kobe will definitely start the next game. 100% he he will come in. I think he'll still start with Sacca on the right. You know, I'd be surprised if he changes this part of the team if I'm honest with you. But from what I have seen recently, I would be more inclined to go Sacca, Foden and Gordon on the left and play Kane up top. It's, you know, people were going, ah, can you not play Du Bellingham, blah, blah, blah. He just looks tired. You know, I think the, the boy's 20 years old. You'd bench him for Sunday. I would, I would rest him for Sunday. I think bench is a strong word. I would rest him for at least 45 minutes to have a look. And I think also sometimes just to step back and have a look from the outside in. Look at Didier de Shoms, for example, right? Didier de Shams. I look at him at this tournament. The guy don't care. You know, Ronald Kuman yesterday, he dragged Vermin off after the 33 minutes to get off. You're not playing well enough. And you know, the Champs is kind of starting the tournament. I don't think any of us picked that midfield for France when they've got Chua Manya Kamervinga in the team. Like you're looking at it going one of those two have to play. No, he loves Kante, loves Rabio and he loves Antoine Griezmann. That's his three. You 3 have just won the Champions League. Chua, Manya, Kamervinga and Mendi left back.
