Knicks Bulletin: "I’m planning on playing here"
We're bringing back the Knicks Bulletin for a special Draft Edition and the first installment of the column for the 2024/25 season.
The reason? None other than giving a warm welcome to Pacome Dadiet, the freshest member of the New York Knicks organization.
Dadiet spoke briefly after the first day of the draft after the Knicks drafted him with the No. 25 pick and answered a few questions thrown his way by media folks attending the event. Here is what the young Frenchman had to said.
On being excited about becoming a New York Knicks player and what it means for him...
“A lot. I don’t even have the words.“
On his plans for the upcoming season...
“I’m planning on playing here.”
On hustling and grinding his way to the NBA...
“I think it’s beautiful, I took a lot of risks. I left France when I was 17, so I did the last two years in Germany.”
“I believed in myself, I worked a lot, I stayed confident.”
On what he can give the Knicks...
“I think I’m really versatile, but I can also bring what a rookie needs to bring in a team.“
“Bring some energy, being able to grab a rebound and push the ball, but also knock down shots.”
The Knicks traded pick No. 24 of the 2024 draft to the Washington Wizards in exchange for picks No. 26 and No. 51.
After that, the Knicks traded pick No. 26 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for five second-round picks spanning between 2025 and 2027.
With the No. 25 pick of the first round, the Knicks drafted French forward Pacome Dadiet from German club Ratiopharm Ulm.
Dadiet is a 6–foot-8 wing and still 18 years old. In 59 games with Ratiopharm Ulm in the 2024 season, he averaged 6.6 points on 53 percent shooting (38.3 from three) to go with 2.3 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.5 steals in 15.3 minutes per game.
Welcome to New York, Pacome!
