Selena Gomez Puts Sheer Spin on Formal Dressing in Versace for ‘Jimmy Kimmel' Appearance, Talks ‘Only Murders in the Building'
Selena Gomez gave formal dressing an edgy twist during her appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday. The actress spoke with costar Martin Short, who stood in for the eponymous late-night talk show host, about the forthcoming season of their series "Only Murders in the Building."
Selena Gomez is seen on June 26 in Los Angeles.
For her late-night appearance, Gomez opted for a selection from Versace's fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The dress featured a crisp white collar with gold buttons running down the front placket of the dress. There was also a glittering silver gem element near the collar of the dress.
The Versace look, which made its runway debut during Milan Fashion Week last February, also featured a sheer element, with the sleeves and shoulders of the dress completely sheer. For the collection, Donatella Versace captured "a rebel with a kind heart," as noted in WWD's review of the collection.

Pieces from the collection were worn by another A-list star during a red carpet event. Actress Nicole Kidman wore a similar selection from the collection for the Emmy FYC event for her miniseries "Expats" last April.
During her time on the talk show, Gomez and Short discussed their time working together on the Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building." "Many people say, who've done our show, it is one of the coolest, easiest, most fun sets," Short said.
Gomez told Short she remembered "being terrified" the first day of filming the comedy series alongside Short and Steve Martin. "I was walking into something so rich and so fun and working with two icons - geniuses."
The two bonded over shared memories working together, with Season Four of the series underway.

"Only Murders in the Building" follows Mabel (Gomez), Oliver (Short) and Charles (Martin) who live in the same New York City apartment building and share a love of true c rime podcasts. The trio sets out to solve murders that happen in their building and share their findings on their own podcast. Season Four of "Only Murders in the Building" premieres Aug. 27.
