Government is ‘handpicking’ nuclear programs to paint story of it being too costly
Global Nuclear Security Partners Australia’s Jasmin Diab says the government is “handpicking” certain nuclear programs which have gone over budget to paint the story of it being too costly.
“Are we making decisions based off cost, or are we making decisions based off what’s best for the Australian energy market?” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“I would say that at the moment, we really don’t know what we’re making decisions on, and the excuse of cost is being hidden behind analysis that hasn’t had a detailed look at what real nuclear costs look like.”
