Kyle Filipowski has somber moment outside green room after NBA Draft snub
Kyle Filipowski wasn’t celebrating Wednesday night with his former Duke teammate Jared McCain, whom the 76ers selected with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
The 7-foot forward instead had a somber moment in the back hallways of Barclays Center in Brooklyn after he wasn’t selected in the first round, as seen in a video on social media.
Filipowski and a woman, whom appeared to be his fiancée Caitlin Hutchison, shared a hug together while outside the green room.

Filipowski looked disappointed as the pair embraced in the middle of the hallway, which was right outside the floor of the draft.
The couple announced their engagement in April, and shared stunning photos, which featured Hutchison’s massive emerald cut diamond ring.

“Lot of teams gone regret passing up on Flip,” Jayson Tatum, who won a title with the Celtics earlier this month, posted on X.
The 20-year-old Filipowski was anticipated to be selected in the first round after a strong 2023-24 campaign for the Blue Devils.
