Nuclear may not be recommended for Australia due to 'cost reasons'
Rewiring Australia Co-founder Saul Griffith says he “might not” recommend nuclear to Australia for “cost reasons”.
This follows AEMO releasing a roadmap to transition the National Electricity Market (NEM) to net zero by 2050.
“Gas might have been a transition fuel in the 1990s, but that ship has sailed,” Mr Griffith told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“Now we can electrify with solar, with batteries, with wind.
“There’s going to be some nuclear in the mix – I might not recommend it for Australia for cost reasons.”
