Abhijeet Bhattacharya reveals Shah Rukh Khan was hesitant to sing 'I Am The Best' from 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani'
Shah Rukh Khan's iconic song, 'I Am The Best' from 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani,' is one of the most outstanding compositions ever. Abhijeet Bhattacharya was the singer of this track, and he has now revealed that SRK was hesitant to sing the last portion of the song.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Abhijeet shared a memory about recording 'I Am The Best' with lyricist Javed Akhtar, director Aziz Mirza, and the music composer duo Jatin-Lalit. Abhijeet shared that when discussing the last part of the song with Akhtar and others, the team was unsure about using his voice. He suggested that the veteran lyricist call Shah Rukh Khan to sing a few lines in the track. Shah Rukh, who was in Bombay, arrived at the recording studio within 45 minutes.
The singer sang in two distinct voices without pausing. Initially met with skepticism by the team, Javed Akhtar insisted on keeping this improvisation, including the memorable line, 'Arey bhai waah ye toh hit hai...'.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya is known for songs like 'Chaand Taare,' 'Tauba Tumhare Yeh Ishare,' 'Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon,' and more.
