Sabrina Ionescu Catches Stray Amid Caitlin Clark Criticism
New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu is being criticized for her late game frustration in a game against the Minnesota Lynx.
Ionescu is under the microscope for venting at teammates who appeared not to run a play like the guard would have liked. The play came after an errant shot from Ionescu.
Given the criticism Caitlin Clark has received in recent weeks, some are interested in how Clark would have been criticized for the frustration in a similar situation.
To be clear, not running a play correctly is worthy of more frustration than over a missed shot. Making a three point shot is much more difficult than moving where one is supposed to on a given play. Still, it highlights some of the criticisms top players receive in the league.
Ionescu is having one of the best seasons in the WNBA among guards. For the year, she averages 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.1 steals.

Ionescu's 19.3 point scoring average ranks her No. 6 in the league. It places her right behind teammate and Liberty forward Breanna Stewart (19.7 points per game).
Ionescu and the Liberty will next face the Atlanta Dream on June 30.
