Shoppers praise M&S's 'comfortable and flattering' cotton dress that comes in under £40

Wrap dresses are known for their figure-flattering fit, and we’ve found one for under £40 on the high street that’s set to be a sell-out as soon as fashion fans catch sight of it. The Pure Cotton Round Neck Midi Wrap Dress, from Marks and Spencer, has been described as ‘one of the nicest dresses ever’ by shoppers, who have snapped it up for their summer holidays.

Priced at £39.50, the ‘elegantly understated’ dress is made from 100 per cent cotton, making it ideal for the suitcase. Lightweight and breathable, it’ll keep you cool in the upcoming heatwave when it becomes difficult to know what to wear for the weather.

Coming in cream and black colourways, the dress features a sleeveless design and wrap-style front that ties at the back. The draped detail is perfect for hiding any ‘lumps and bumps’ you may want to disguise, while the midi length elongates the leg for a ‘flattering style’, The Mirror reports.

The dress comes in three lengths, including petite, regular and long, ranging from size 6-24 depending on your choice. Many have said how ‘comfortable’ the dress is, giving it a 4.6-star rating out of five on the M&S website.

One customer said it was: “One of the nicest dresses I have ever bought!” Adding: “Great fit, great quality! Just perfect!” Another wrote: “Such a flattering style and great quality for the price.”

“I love this dress. I’m 5 ft 9 and got the tall. Perfect length. Very soft cotton too,” said a third, while a fourth commented: “I bought to wear in the evening on holiday and after that, for work. The fit is quite forgiving so I bought a smaller size than I would normally wear.”

Not everyone has been a fan of the dress, though, with one shopper leaving a two-star review, penning: “The material is lovely, 100% cotton and firm enough to hold the shape without being too clingy. However, I looked as if I had jumped out of an Ancient Greece or Roman history book. It had to go back, I’m afraid.”

But generally, shoppers have considered the ‘stylish’ dress to be ‘good value’ and ‘suitable for all ages’.
