Dalton Knecht Receives New Nickname After Los Angeles Lakers Number Choice

Some things are just too good to be true.

For instance, it seems almost too good to be true that Bronny James was available at pick No. 55 in the 2024 NBA Draft, allowing the Los Angeles Lakers to select him and pair him up with his dad, LeBron James. Of course, if you are to believe reports that agent Rich Paul called other teams and threatened what could happen if they did select Bronny, maybe that was too good to be true.

However, something else that seems too good to be true is the jersey number the fellow Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht chose after getting drafted in the first round, landing him a new nickname in the league.

Number 4. Knecht 4. Connect Four.

Come on, it's too perfect.

There were some pleas from fans for this to be the case during the draft, and now that it has come to fruition, many are celebrating online.

While Bronny James got almost all of the shine as far as rookies go for the Lakers, there's a real chance that Knecht is going to be a major part of this team next year and play big minutes alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis.

And when he makes those highlight plays that we saw so often at the college level, the "Connect Four" calls from announces are going to be glorious.
