Steph Curry Makes NBA History vs. Washington Wizards

The Golden State Warriors hosted the Washington Wizards on Friday night in Jordan Poole’s return to Chase Center. While the evening began with a tribute video for Poole, the game quickly became about his former teammate Steph Curry. With 30 points, 7 assists, and 8 made threes, Curry became the first player in NBA history with this line or better in 27 minutes or fewer.

Playing just under 27 minutes due to the score, Curry tallied quite the line in limited minutes. Even without the assists, Curry turned in just the 15th game in NBA history with at least 30 points and 8 threes in 27 minutes or fewer. Prior to this game, nobody had ever done this while also dishing out 7 assists.

While this line was historic for Curry, it was just another game for the superstar point guard, who tallied his 75th career game with at least 8 made threes. This of course is the most in NBA history, with the next closest player being Damian Lillard with 29 such games.

This was the 12th time in Curry’s career he made at least 8 threes in fewer than 30 minutes, which is double the next closest player on that list. Greatest shooter of all-time does not even begin to describe the gap between Curry and everyone else who has played the game of basketball.
