Labour to reform primary care
Look, we've got a situation at the moment where we've got patients who can't get a GP and GPS who are telling us they can't find jobs. And that's why I think we've got to look at, yes, training up thousands more GPS, which are Labour government will do, yes, freeing up GP time and capacity by reducing the amount of bureaucracy and the number of measures they're accountable on. But we also need to look at the funding that's going into general practice, whether that could be made more flexible so that we can meet the demand for GPS much sooner and make sure GPS who've worked hard to qualify can find jobs.
