Spears stolen by Cook returned to Aboriginal owners after more than 250 years
Instead of conflict, we have a partnership and instead of a misunderstanding, we have a shared vision. Today we have an opportunity to celebrate these fears and what they represent for us, Australia and the whole world. But it’ll also be a day which does have some tinge of emotion and sadness for our local Indigenous communities, who will see this as a shining example of something which has been done in a marvellous way, albeit decades or centuries too late.
