The loss of Russia’s large landing ship (LLS) Novocherkassk due to precision strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the occupied city of Feodosia, along with other vessels of similar types, has significantly impacted the invaders’ ability to conduct amphibious landings, states Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Navy.

According to Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale military aggression, Ukrainian defenders have successfully destroyed three landing ships of the occupiers and several landing craft. As a result, the enemy’s capability for amphibious landings has been reduced to a battalion, or half of its previous capacity.

“Previously, they could land two battalions simultaneously, and now it’s only one,” he stated.

Vice Admiral Neizhpapa emphasized that enemy landing ships, like missile-carrying ships of the Kalibr type, are among the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ priority targets.

Furthermore, he added that due to the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the Russian fleet has relocated all its Kalibr missile carriers to Novorossiysk.

“This occurred during this year. Also, within the year, aside from missile carriers, they withdrew landing ships and patrol boats, concentrating them in Feodosia and Novorossiysk,” noted the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Navy.

Destruction of the landing ship Novocherkassk

On the night of December 26, in the occupied city of Feodosia, a large Russian landing ship, the Novocherkassk, was destroyed.

Commander of the Air Forces Mykola Oleshchuk confirmed the strike on the landing ship with cruise missiles, and footage of a powerful detonation on board circulated widely on social media.

Additionally, on Tuesday evening, information emerged that after the strikes on the Russian Novocherkassk, two Russian ships left the bay of Feodosia.
