Kieran Culkin interrupted J. Smith-Cameron’s red carpet interview to give her a kiss at the 2024 Emmy Awards.

The 41-year-old actor suddenly appeared behind his Succession co-star and on-screen lover, 66, and rested his head on her shoulder in a sweet moment.

Smith-Cameron was talking to a Variety reporter about doing a movie — and not a musical, she specified — with Brian Cox when Culkin wrapped his arms around her.

The dynamic duo’s real-life chemistry and on-screen relationship is one of the central romances in satirical comedy-drama series, Succession — which received a total of 27 nominations at the Emmys.

Bantering off of their relationship, he jokingly pretended to finish her interview answer with gushing compliments about himself.

‘…And I love Kieran Culkin and he’s my absolute favorite to work with even though he’s an a**hole to me and I hate him in my personal life,’ he said as she pretended to shake her head.

‘You really hate me, don’t you?’ he said when she didn’t say anything but continued acting annoyed.

‘No,’ she answered before looking into his eyes and sharing a friendly, mutual moment.

‘You look lovely,’ he said, complimenting her. ‘You smell nice.’

To which, she asked for ‘a little kiss’ and they shared a quick peck before Culkin walked away.

‘How much do you love him?’ the interviewer asked Smith-Cameron.

‘Oh, I’m pretty crazy about him, but he’s also a brat,’ she joked.

Smith-Cameron is nominated for best supporting actress in a drama series while Culkin is in the running for lead actor against their co-stars Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.

He had surprised her mid-interview by wrapping his arms around her. Then, he went on to finish her answer for her: ‘…And I love Kieran Culkin and he’s my absolute favorite to work with even though he’s an a**hole to me and I hate him in my personal life.’

For Outstanding Comedy Series, The Bear is up against Ted Lasso as well as Abbott Elementary, Barry, Jury Duty, Only Murders In The Building, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Wednesday.

At this year’s award show, there will be a series of cast reunions and recreations to honor and commemorate beloved, classic television series like The Sopranos, Cheers, I Love Lucy and All In The Family.

Stars from Grey’s Anatomy, American Horror Story and Ally McBeal will also reunite onstage while presenting awards at the Emmys.

Fan-favorite comedians and presenter duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who is also nominated for Outstanding Host of a Reality or Competition Program, will also take the stage at the award ceremony.

The show will kick off at 5 p.m. PT and can be streamed live on Fox or FXX through streaming services such as Hulu + Live TV, Sling, DirecTV, YouTube TV and FuboTV.

The day after the award ceremony, the Emmys will be available to stream on Hulu.

The first Emmy Award was held back in 1949 to celebrate the artistic and technical merit for the television industry.
