Well, it was a soaking start to the week and the prairies, and particularly for Alberta lecture broke some rainfall records. Now here’s a look at your May averages. Normally we see about 46mm of rain in regions like Calgary, 45 millimeters in Lethbridge, about 38 in Medicine Hat, but not this May. Medicine Hat. You saw 73mm just on May 7th, making it your rainiest May Day ever recorded by a long shot, as well as your 5th rainiest day ever recorded. Here’s a look at some of those rainfall totals. Over the rainfall event we saw about 50mm of rain. Regions like Bow Island 80 in Medicine has 67 in Irvine. Up in regions like Stetler about 32.2, Coronation 40 and wind gusts were also. Really intense. The peak wind gusts was 106 kilometers an hour. And notice here at Lethbridge 81 kilometers an hour, 94 kilometers an hour in regions like Milk River and even as we stretch all the way up to regions like Edmonton, 55 kilometers an hour. But there’s more rain on the way. But it’s good news as it’s going to the regions that need it the most.
