Department store chain Myer has proposed merging with billionaire Solomon Lew's Premier Investments' apparel business.

Under the proposed deal, Myer would combine with Premier's Apparel Brands business, which includes Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Portman’s, Jacqui E and Dotti.
