'need to get your act together': vivian richards has no doubt 'fighter' virat kohli will rediscover his mojo
Virat Kohli has so far struggled for runs at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, having managed to score a paltry 66 runs in five innings. While Rohit Sharma and Co. are undefeated in the World Cup so far, their next Super 8 clash against Australia will decide which teams will progress to the Super 8, with Afghanistan also in the mix.
Even though the 34-year-old has struggled to stamp his authority in the T20 World Cup, despite having an impressive IPL 2024 campaign, former West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards has backed the former Indian skipper to rediscover his mojo.
Vivian Richards was invited into the Indian dressing room after the Men in Blue won their Super 8 clash against Afghanistan. The Windies legend was given a warm welcome by the Indian players as Viv Richards awarded Suryakumar Yadav the 'best fielder' award and he also shared a heartwarming moment with Rishabh Pant.

Richards was quizzed ahead of the India vs Australia fixture, about Kohli's rut in the World Cup, but the legendary cricketer insisted that its important to peak at the right time in a long tournament, sometimes its better to peak not too early as he called Virat a 'fighter'.
"Well I have always believed especially in such long tournaments, when you peak too early, sometimes it is not too good. It is nice to have a few failures early and these are the championship rounds now, when you get into the Super 8, semis and this is where you need to get your act together. I would back Virat Kohli anyway to come good as he is a fighter and I have no doubts," Viv Richards told Revsportz.
While he backed the West Indies to qualify for the semifinals, he also stated if the Maroons fail to qualify for the next round, he'll be cheering for the Indian team.

"I honestly believe we are here at home, we have a powerful unit and this is the time for us to get it together and do it for the Caribbean people.
