Bendel Insurance goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie is set to win the Golden Glove award for the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Obasogie has kept the most clean sheets (18) in the NPFL this season.
Remo Stars’ Kayode Bankole and Doma United’s Kingdom Osayi are tied on 15 clean sheets.
Should Obasogie win the award, he would make history as the first goalkeeper with most clean sheets in a single season in the NPFL.
DAILY POST recalled that Kwara United veteran goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka holds the record for most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in a single season in the NPFL.
The shot-stopper kept 16 clean sheets during the 2020/21 season.
Obasogie is expected to start in goal for Bendel Insurance in their final match of the season against Bayelsa United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium later today, Sunday.
