Actor Lee Lung Kei’s 37-year-younger fiancée sentenced to 25 months over fake Hong Kong entry documents
Chris Wong, 37, fiancée of 74-year-old Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei, received a 25-month prison sentence for using fake U.S. diplomas to gain prioritized Hong Kong entry and overstaying her visa.
The sentencing took place on June 19, following Wong’s conviction on five out of seven charges related to residency status and the use of fake documents, as reported by Dimsum Daily.
Wong appeared in court dressed in a pink top and beige suit, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Throughout the trial, she and Lee, who was present and dressed in a pink shirt, exchanged glances and were visibly emotional, often wiping tears from their eyes.
After the sentence was pronounced, Lee vocally expressed his distress to the media, stating he had not anticipated such an outcome and had already instructed his lawyer to take the necessary legal steps, although he was not considering an appeal.
Lee also expressed his unwavering support for Wong, declaring his intent to wait for her during her incarceration. He mentioned that he was uncertain if Wong’s family was aware of her situation, but he planned to continue his visits to the Wong Tai Sin temple to pray for her.
Wong, originally from mainland China, was arrested in February for overstaying her Hong Kong tourist visa.
Her initial trial took place on May 28, where she faced additional charges of using forged documents and providing false information by using fake aviation college graduation certificates to apply for the Immigration Department’s Mainland Talents and Professionals Scheme in Hong Kong.
Lee is celebrated for his performances in "The Condor Heroes," "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," "Journey to the West," and "Forensic Heroes."
He fathered three children during a marriage in the 1970s, all of whom are older than Wong.
The actor and Wong first met when he was 66 years old. They had initially intended to marry by the end of 2023, but delayed their plans following the death of Wong’s father last year.
