'There is no actual proposal': Coalition's nuclear power policy slammed

Independent MP Zali Steggall has blasted the Coalition's energy plan claiming their “four-and-a-half-page blurb” on their nuclear policy “is not it."

"There is no actual proposal. We don't have anything as to timelines, regulatory processes that would be required to keep the community safe, the cost, the amount of energy output, how the community consultation would occur," Ms Steggall said.

"These are serious questions that require a serious conversation, and a four-and-a-half-page blurb is not it.

Ms Steggall said she would be “very keen to see more detail provided by the coalition on their nuclear plan.

"We know nuclear works in some countries where they don't have access to large-scale renewables,” she said.

"The question, though, is always going to be, how can it be delivered in the timeline in which we need it?"
