Dallas Cowboys' Front Office: UFL Signings Igniting Dak Prescott Negotiations?
The Dallas Cowboys front office has been busy the past few days signing three United Football League players. But will Jerry and Stephen Jones get the ball rolling on Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb contract extensions?
The fact that this front office has yet to sign the vital offensive stars hasn't been lost on those outside the organization. ESPN recently gave the franchise an offseason grade of a D+, third-worst in the league.
It is a valid grade for Jerry and Stephen Jones, who've slow-walked the signing of their stars this offseason.

But, there's a glimmer of hope that something could be coming on the horizon in the form of the rash of UFL signings.
They're tying up loose ends on the roster and filling holes they still believe they have, as they normally do at this time, hopefully before they move on to Prescott and Lamb. Both are deserving of new contracts and both Jerry and Stephen have acknowledged that in past statements to the media.
But when will it happen? We've seen how they've dragged contract negotiations out into training camp before with Dez Bryant, DeMarcus Lawrence, and twice with Zack Martin. That's when Jerry normally sees a deadline for negotiations.
So if history shows us anything, this front office should be in the process of putting out offers to both players. They know what their ceilings are after the contracts for quarterback Joe Burrow and receiver Justin Jefferson signed their new deals. The Cowboys will be looking to thread the needle to keep both with enough money to sign defensive end/linebacker Micah Parsons next season.
The signs are all there, first step shoring up holes on the roster, which means next up should be their negotiations with Prescott and Lamb.
