Long Weekend Forecast: Sunshine, showers, and storms could challenge plans
Well, the Canada Day long weekend will be characterized by sunshine, showers and storms. Now while it won't be a washout of a weekend, certainly there will be a couple of wet periods and lots of sunshine to enjoy. We kick off a long weekend Friday afternoon with beautiful sunshine right across the board. Temperatures warming up around that 20° mark or even a little bit above. Now this long weekend we're not really expecting any extreme heat. However, humidity will be building a bit as we head into Saturday. But Saturday is the day we've got to watch out for for those showers. High atmospheric moisture will bring the risk for those showers quite widespread across the area, with the risk for those storms Saturday morning starting off on the dry side. But as we head into the afternoon, that's when we see the favorite time period for those showers and those storms. There will be a couple of dry breaks in there and maybe even some sunny breaks as well. But Saturday looks like the day where we will perhaps need an indoor plan for us in terms of the active weather. It may be some showers lingering or passing through briefly on Sunday, but Sunday looks like a good day overall. Now in terms of the fireworks forecast for us for winds as we head Sunday into Monday, winds not expected to be too strong. So at least things should be a go for fireworks by Monday night.
