USC football has faced a significant setback this week, losing two five-star recruits. Defensive lineman Justus Terry announced his de-commitment from the Trojans on Wednesday via social media.
Terry, a 6-foot-5 standout from Manchester, Georgia, had committed to USC in March 2024 but decided to reopen his recruitment after less than three months. Since his initial commitment, Terry has visited Georgia and Florida State.
This news follows the de-commitment of another five-star recruit, Isaiah Gibson, on Tuesday.
Gibson, an edge rusher from Warner Robins, Georgia, also committed to USC on the same day as Terry. Gibson has since taken official visits to several schools, including Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, and Ohio State.
These de-commitments are a blow to USC's recruiting efforts. Terry was ranked as the No. 7 player overall in the class of 2025 by ESPN.
With these losses, quarterback Julian Lewis remains the only five-star recruit committed to USC for the class of 2025. Lewis is the top recruit in his class, offering some solace to the Trojans amidst these recent departures.
