Pixie Lott reveals she was left 'completely broken' and 'crying on the floor' after starring in Breakfast At Tiffany's on the West End

Pixie Lott has revealed she was left 'completely broken' after starring in a West End production of Breakfast At Tiffany's in 2016.

The singer, 33, was cast in the lead role of Holly Golightly, famously portrayed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film.

But Pixie told how the stage production was not based on the film but on the novel by Truman Capote which was much 'darker'.

The hitmaker received rave reviews for her performance but inhabiting the character night after night took its toll on her.

Speaking to The Sun, Pixie said: 'It was based on the book, not the film. The film is a lot lighter. But in the book she loses everything — her husband, her baby, her life, her cat. Everything.

'By the end of the show, I was on the floor of the stage crying my eyes out. Night after night after night for about a year, eight shows a week.

'By the end, I was a completely broken version of myself. I couldn’t function properly at all. It really affected me mentally.'

Pixie added she was 'living with' the bad mentality formed during the production for years and it took her a while to get out of that 'frame of mind'.

The Voice Kids judge told how she went to Google to research ways to get back into a positive state of mind which she eventally found through meditation.

Pixie, who took a hiatus from the music industry after the birth of her son Albert last year, is back with her new single Somebody's Daughter.

The song is about considering who you are talking to before sending someone rude messages online - something Pixie has experienced.

It has been 10 years since the release of Pixie's third self-titled album and she feels she has far more creative control over her music now.

Pixie rose to fame with her hit debut album, Turn It Up, in 2009 and she met her-now husband Oliver Cheshire not long afterwards.

They married in June 2022 and the birth of their son Albert was confirmed in October the following year.

Earlier this year, Pixie confirmed Albert's adorable name and gender after keeping it tightly under wraps.

She shared a snap from her son's christening and in the caption, announced that they called their baby boy Albert Charles Cheshire.

Pixie wrote: 'Albert Charles Cheshire. It has already been the most amazing time of our lives with you little Bertie and we feel so incredibly lucky you chose us to be your m and d xx.'

She sweetly cradled her baby boy, who was wrapped up in a blue blanket and knitted hat, as model Oliver planted a kiss on her cheek outside the church.
