Renewables is the 'cheaper option' as we are already 'well down that path': Qld Premier
Queensland Premier Steven Miles says Australia already has a “much cheaper option” over nuclear.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton revealed his nuclear policy and the location of his seven proposed nuclear reactors, two of which are in Queensland.
Mr Miles told Sky News Australia that “we don’t need to” investigate the possibility of nuclear power.
“We have a much cheaper action, and we’re already well down that path.
“All of the studies that have been conducted into this … the startup cost, that initial investment cost, as well as the long long lead times, means its smarter to pursue technologies you already have in place.”
